The Department of Psychology at York University (http://psyc.info.yorku.ca) invites applications for a full-time alternate stream (teaching-focused) tenure track position at the Assistant Lecturer rank in Critical Thinking, Writing, and Communication to commence July 1, 2017.  Core responsibilities will include teaching and overseeing newly developed courses including Writing in Psychology (introductory level) and Critical Thinking in Psychology (upper-level).

Candidates with a doctoral degree in Psychology or a related field (such as Education) are invited to apply. Applicants must have experience teaching at the undergraduate level and must demonstrate excellence, or the promise of excellence, in the teaching of writing and/or critical thinking to undergraduate students. The ideal applicant will have experience with innovative teaching methods as well as research expertise in pedagogy.  Additional experience with curriculum development would be an asset. This position will primarily involve undergraduate teaching. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning is an asset.  Applicants should also provide evidence of an ability to work collaboratively, as the selected candidate will be expected to contribute through service to the Department, Faculty, and University, and show leadership in our undergraduate program.
